The town add community of Serock is very dynamically developing community located in the central part of the Voivodeship of Mazovia, some 40 km away from the Centre of Warsaw, at the main road no. 61 running from Warsaw to Augustďż˝w, and it has a well-deserved name of "Masuria near Warsaw". The Narew River and Zegrzyński Reservoir costitute the eastern and southern border of the community. The town itself is located on a high scarp witch a view of the picturesguque fork of the Bug and Narew Rivers. Both the town and the neighbouring villages have a tourist status thanks to their Exceptional location on the national scale, as well as such great factors as unpollued Environment, vincinity of vast forest complexes abounding in specimens of fauna and flora. In the community, there are about 5,000 recreational allotments. Due to this fact, at least 30,000 people in the relax here summer season. 24 training and holiday resorts are situated on the shore of Zegrzyński Reservoir. They have excellent training-teaching facilities, which are a good tourist base as well. The Holiday Resort of the Prime Minister`s Office belongs to the most beautiful resorts. Presently, the water supply system covers 100% of the town area and 90% of the community area, the sewage system-80% of the town area and 20% of the communicty area, the gas system-90% of the town area and 50% of the community area, the power network-100% of the town area and 95% of the community area, and the telecommunication network-100% of the town area and 75% of the community area. Completion of the construction of a new bridge as well as modernisation of the main road no. 61 will cause improvement in road traffic smoothness and will shorten the drive time from Serock to Warsaw to some 35-40 minutes. At the same time, the community will solve the biggest problem, i.e. congestion of the road system at the section of the bridge crossing in Zegrze. The planned construction of the northern ring-road of Warsaw, constituting a part of the transport route from the regions of Wielkopolska and Pomerania in the eastern direction, will increase the investment attractiveness of the community. The town and community authorities are open to any investment projects that use the natural endowments of thevicinity. The list of necessary facilities includes an entertainment park with equipment for practising water sports, models, inns, and a modern tourist information centre. When the authorities approve it, this plan willchange the designation of a significant part of the area of the townand community of Serock. This will result in the appearanceof a large number of a lots, designed for housing and hotel-recreational services, on the real estate market in the beginning of the year 2002. There will be new areas designated for housing, owned by natural persons, located in Jadwisin (area of some 60 ha) and in the housing estate ,,Polna" in Sreock (area of some 25 ha).
